Who it’s for.
We do not pick for grades. We do not pick for charm.
We pick for evidence.
All four must be present.
Not just one or two.
One alone makes a strong applicant. Wild Minds is about the rare kid who has all four at once.
Demonstrated work
You have built or made something real. Not talked about it. Code shipped. Art produced. A business attempted. A project finished. We can look at the thing you made. The standard is not polish. The standard is real.
Voice
Your writing or speaking shows original thinking. Not parroted opinions. Not LLM-polished. A real point of view that holds its shape under questioning. We can hear you when you write.
Curiosity that survives boredom
You go deep on things long after the novelty wears off. The hard week is when the rest gave up. You stayed. The thing you are obsessed with right now is not a passing fad. We can see how long you have been at it.
Coachability
You can take feedback without ego. When someone shows you a better way, you change. You ask sharper questions on the second try. You do not argue your point past the moment of clarity. We can watch you grow.
None of these get you in.
None of them keep you out.
Top grades
Some of the strongest Fellows have been mediocre students. School and curiosity often run in opposite directions.
Rich parents
The fellowship is free. The camp has scholarships. Money is not the gate.
Polished essays
We can tell when an adult or an LLM wrote it. We prefer rough writing in the kid’s own voice.
Prior camp attendance
Where you came from does not matter. What you do here does.
Well-rounded profiles
Wild Minds means uneven, sharp, idiosyncratic. The kid who is brilliant at one thing and average at the rest is exactly who we want.
No separate application.
You do not apply to Wild Minds. We pick from the data we already have on every admitted Fizzmind student:
- Voice assessment with Scout
- Track test
- Application essays
- Top-50 interview
- Challenge submission · project and essays
- Final code or work conversation
- Any unsolicited extras you sent
The Fizzmind admissions committee scores each admitted student on the four traits. The ten highest-scoring students across the entire admitted class become Wild Minds Fellows.
It is binary, not tiered. You are a Fellow or you are not. There is no silver, no bronze.
